Work Incentives Planning and Assistance

Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) services are available to individuals receiving SSI or SSDI benefits through the Social Security Administration.

The goal of the Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) program is to enable beneficiaries with disabilities to receive accurate information about transitioning to work.

The Social Security Administration has selected three providers to assist Georgians in understanding benefits. These providers can help Social Security disability beneficiaries become more self-sufficient by explaining how employment could impact their benefits and help individuals understand the complex process of maintaining SSI or SSDI benefits while working.

They also contact beneficiaries of SSI and SSDI and their families who are potentially eligible for federal or state Work Incentives programs; and work with federal, state, and private agencies and nonprofit organizations that serve SSI and SSDI beneficiaries with disabilities.
