Roosevelt Warm Springs Summary

Roosevelt Warm Springs (RWS) is a residential facility of vocational learning and training operated by the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency.  The mission of the RWS is to provide young adults with disabilities with the knowledge and training necessary to secure gainful employment and achieve the highest possible level of personal independence.  RWS offers a variety of pathway options in high demand, well-paying career fields in a true post-secondary campus environment.  The skilled vocational staff of RWS utilize research based instructional strategies as the foundation of a blended learning model that incorporates access to online curriculum, direct face-to-face instruction, and hands-on performance tasks.  Their commitment to providing quality instruction that appeals to diverse learning styles ensures that students have the individualized support necessary for success in their program of choice.

Currently, RWS has eight pathway offerings, each of which allows students the opportunity to earn nationally recognized industry certifications/credentials.  As of March 2025, vocational training programs available at RWS include - Heavy Equipment Operation, Logistics/Warehousing (including forklift operator licensing), Landscape Maintenance and Design, Auto Detailing, CVS/Retail, Hospitality, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) and Construction Jumpstart - Light Electrical/Carpentry.  Each of these programs has specific academic and physical criteria associated with its enrollment and each allows students the chance to experience real-world training through externship placements with our business partners.  All of the programs are specifically designed to be completed in one academic semester, and the RWS counseling department provides employment support for students after graduation.

In addition to its extensive vocational training options, the beautiful campus of RWS features top-notch amenities and student support services that rival those found on any college campus.
