The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) has named Bethany Whetzel its Deputy Executive Director of Programs.

 

Ms. Whetzel brings a wealth of accountability and compliance experience to the agency.

 

After earning her law degree at Mercer University in 2010, she went to work as counsel for the Georgia Department of Corrections, followed by five years at the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission (formerly known as the state Ethics Commission), and several years at the Office of the Inspector General where she investigated allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, sexual harassment, and corruption within the highest levels of state government. 

 

Prior to law school, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Child and Family Development.

 

Ms. Whetzel is originally from Madison, Ga., and lives in the Atlanta area.
