Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency's (GVRA) Director of Residential Services, Dr. Lee Brinkley Bryan, is temporarily stepping into the role of Vocational Services Director while an extensive search is conducted for the candidate who will permanently fill the role. The vacancy was created by the retirement of Dale Arnold, who served 31 years with the state of Georgia, 21 of which have been in vocational rehabilitation.

Dr. Bryan marks seven years with GVRA in September. Prior to becoming a full time employee, she managed her own Athens-based consulting firm. She has 23 additional years as a training consultant and 15 years as a rehabilitation consultant. She has also worked as a university-based rehabilitation counseling program director and education specialist, a vocational evaluation specialist, and university lecturer.

"While Lee is eminently qualified to lead our vocational services programs, she is neither an applicant nor a candidate for the position on a permanent basis. Lee has done outstanding work at Roosevelt Warm Springs and Cave Spring Center and wants to continue serving in that capacity," GVRA's Executive Director, Sean T. Casey, said. "We appreciate Lee's willingness to expand her responsibilities as we review applications and begin the interview process."

The Vocational Services Director oversees all field vocational rehabilitation operations, which includes 40 local offices and two residential campuses, youth and young adult transition services, sensory services, vocational rehabilitation policy, customer care, provider relations, and behavioral health and developmental disability services.
