Inclement Weather Guidelines 1.30.17

All facility and office closures and/or opening delays will be at the discretion of the Executive Director and/or the Deputy Executive Director in consultation with the applicable division or program director(s). That said, the decision will be made based largely on conversations with local-level management. Within Client Management, once a decision is made to close an office, the Client Management Officer will contact Assistant Directors, who will contact local supervisors. Those supervisors will then relay messages to staff. Communications and Marketing will make information regarding office closures available to all staff via email and the public at www.gvs.ga.gov and on social media. In addition, once the decision is made to close an individual office, local supervisors should contact the applicable radio station to their area, a list of which appears below. This will ensure clients are aware of the closure.

In the case of Roosevelt Warm Springs and Cave Springs, decisions impacting critical staff will be at the discretion of the Executive Director and/or the Deputy Executive Director in consultation with the Chief Client Management Officer and Director of Residential Services. Communications will be shared by campus management, via email, and posted to www.gvs.ga.gov and on social media.
