GVRA Closes Decade-Long Corrective Actions

GVRA has successfully eliminated corrective actions dating back to 2012, marking a major step forward in its commitment to compliance, accountability, and program excellence. This milestone was made possible thanks to the leadership of our Chief Financial Officer Mamta Patel, who led the closeout process with tireless dedication and expertise.

This achievement follows a recent review by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), which evaluated GVRA’s Corrective Action Plan (CAP) submitted on April 30, 2025. The plan was developed in response to federal findings and recommendations stemming from a monitoring review conducted under Section 107 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

“We’ve gained valuable insights throughout this process and remain committed to meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining strong oversight,” says Patel. “Our partnership with RSA has been instrumental, and we look forward to continuing this collaborative effort.”

GVRA’s journey toward compliance has spanned over a decade and endured multiple challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, internal restructuring, and a reduction of more than 300 employees. Despite these challenges, GVRA pressed forward and made significant progress.

Executive Director Chris Wells praised the agency’s collective efforts, emphasizing that reaching this major milestone was the result of strong collaboration across all departments. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and remain committed to fully closing out the CAP,” says Wells. “This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire team.”

GVRA’s progress not only reinforces its mission of empowering individuals with disabilities through high-quality vocational rehabilitation services but also reflects a culture of transparency, accountability, and resilience.
