GVRA Names New Police Chief for Roosevelt Warms Springs Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center and Cave Springs Center

The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) is pleased to announce that veteran law enforcement officer Carl Hearn has been promoted to Chief of Police for the Roosevelt Warm Springs Police Department.

As chief, Hearn manages police operations and oversees plans, policies, and staffing resources for the five-person department serving the Roosevelt Warm Springs Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center and Cave Springs Center. Additionally, he coordinates emergency services with area law enforcement officials and public health partners.

“We are excited that Mr. Hearn will serve at the highest level of our police department, where he has already distinguished himself as a very capable leader,” says GVRA Executive Director Chris Wells. “His selection represents continuity and a commitment to building on the transformation underway at our Roosevelt Warm Springs and Cave Springs campuses.”

Hearn, who has more than 15 years in law enforcement, previously served as a supervising Sergeant Detective for Roosevelt Warms Springs and Cave Springs, where he managed criminal investigations, staffing, and community policing activities. He was named Officer of the Year by the Warm Springs Police Department in 2015. He began his career in 2007 with the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Department, receiving two promotions and certifications in several specialties, including Response to Terrorism and Active Shooters, Criminal Apprehension, High-Risk Warrant, and Arrest Tactics, Interviews and Interrogations, Hostage Negotiations, and Field Training. While with the Sheriff’s Department, he was honored as Employee of the Year.
