Deaf 2025 Biennial Conference

GVRA Deaf Services Coordinator presents at Georgia Association of the Deaf (GAD) Biennial Conference

GVRA’s Deaf Services Coordinator Ricky Alewine was a featured speaker at the Georgia Association of the Deaf 2025 biennial conference which was held June 20-22, 2025 at the Marriott Perimeter Center hotel in Atlanta. Alewine led a discussion on ways to empower the Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and DeafBlind communities through vocational rehabilitation.

After being involved in an automobile accident, Stephen Thomas's life changed forever. However, through his discovery of GVRA services, he found new opportunities. Thomas became interested in the Business Enterprise Program and began working as a Relief Operator.
