Statewide Efforts Expand Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities remains at the heart of the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency's (GVRA) mission. The progress achieved during Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 reflects that ongoing commitment. Compared to FY 2025, vocational rehabilitation (VR) services provided increased by 28%, while the number of individuals with disabilities served grew by 18%. These results demonstrate GVRA's continued dedication to expanding access to services and creating greater opportunities for individuals with disabilities to achieve independence and meaningful employment.
Growth in Vocational Rehabilitation Services
In FY 2026, GVRA provided 28,487 vocational rehabilitation services, nearly doubling the 14,217 services delivered in FY 2021. This steady growth highlights the agency's continued investment in equipping individuals with disabilities with the skills, resources, training, and support they need to prepare for, obtain, and maintain meaningful employment.

Individuals with Disabilities Served
GVRA also expanded its reach to more Georgians with disabilities during FY 2026, serving 28,487 vocational rehabilitation clients statewide. The agency achieved a 55% employment rate among successful VR outcomes, with individuals earning an average hourly wage of $14.67.
Young adults ages 19–24 represented the largest group served, with 11,422 individuals receiving VR services. The second-largest age group served was adults ages 35–44, totaling 3,148 individuals. These numbers reflect GVRA's continued focus on supporting individuals at every stage of their employment journey, from students transitioning into the workforce to adults seeking new career opportunities.
As demand for vocational rehabilitation services continues to grow, GVRA remains committed to expanding access to quality services, strengthening partnerships across Georgia, and empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve competitive integrated employment and greater independence.
