The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) is pleased to announce veteran staffer Jennifer Howell as the new Assistant Director of Client Services for the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program. Jennifer began her career with VR in Georgia in March 2002 as a Rehabilitation Casework Associate. Previously, she worked for Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia where she developed and implemented procedures for utilizing a $250,000.00 HUD grant to serve homeless individuals in the Augusta, Georgia area and oversaw the daily operations of five (5) local career center offices.
 
During the past 19 years with GVRA, she has worked as a Provisional Rehabilitation Counselor, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), a Policy & Appeals Advisor, and most recently, the Policy & Compliance Manager. During her tenure, she created a caseload management process that was taught and implemented statewide. As a CRC, Jennifer received numerous awards and recognition for exceeding her placement goals. She has maintained her CRC credential since 2004 and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia since 2009.  

Jennifer was promoted to Assistant Director of Client Services on July 1st. In her new role, she will focus on customer service and the client experience, ensuring staff have the critical resources they need to assist people in a timely and thorough manner. She supervises all District Managers and also oversees sensory staff. Jennifer looks forward to traveling the state in the weeks ahead and wants to be a resource to all team members   
 
Jennifer received both her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Augusta State University. She has served on numerous statewide committees to improve the quality of services, develop new programs and ensure staff development. She lives in Thomson, Georgia with her spouse of twenty years and has a seventeen-year-old daughter. Their numerous pets are also an important part of the family.
