Meet Cave Spring Manager, Greg Teems

Gregory Cecil “Greg” Teems is a longtime educator and school system leader from Rockmart, Georgia, recognized for his decades of dedicated service to Polk School District.

Teems devoted 36 years to education in Polk County. He began his career as a band director after earning his degree in music education from Jacksonville State University. In this role, he influenced generations of students, fostering both musical excellence and personal discipline. His passion for education and leadership later led him to continue his studies, earning a Specialist in Education in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.

Throughout his career, Teems advanced into administrative leadership, serving in key roles including Director of Student Services and Assistant Superintendent. He became known as a steady and trusted leader, helping guide district operations and supporting student success across the system. In 2017, he was appointed interim superintendent, reflecting the confidence the Board of Education placed in his experience and leadership.
After more than three decades of service, Teems retired from public education, leaving a lasting and meaningful impact on the students, staff, and families of Polk County.
Following his retirement, Teems continued his commitment to serving others by joining Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) in Cave Spring. In this role, he works to support individuals with disabilities in achieving greater independence and success through employment and rehabilitation services, further extending his lifelong dedication to helping people reach their full potential.

Outside of his professional life, Teems is a devoted family man. He has been married to his wife, Robyn Teems, for over 36 years. Together, they have two children and three grandchildren, who remain a central part of his life.
