The spring semester at Roosevelt Warm Springs (RWS) and the Cave Spring Center (CSC) has officially begun, with students eager to begin hands-on learning experiences in their chosen career pathways. RWS is serving 114 students this semester, while the Cave Spring Center has enrolled 19 students, reflecting continued growth across both campuses.

RWS Application and Pathway Breakdown

During the spring enrollment process, RWS received more than 300 applications. Each application was carefully reviewed by members of the selection panel to ensure students are placed in programs that align with their goals and strengths. From this competitive applicant pool, 150 students were approved, forming a new cohort that will benefit from RWS’s career-focused training and industry-recognized certification opportunities. The strong number of applicants highlights the increasing demand for the specialized programs offered at Roosevelt Warm Springs and its reputation for preparing students for employment.

Cave Spring Center Growing Enrollment

The Cave Spring Center enrolled eight Hospitality pathway students, seven Retail pathway students and four students participating in the Business Enterprise Program.  The Cave Spring Center continues to build momentum as it welcomes its second cohort of residential students. Interest in the program is steadily rising, with numerous campus tours scheduled this semester for prospective students and their families. Increased community engagement and visibility are expected to support continued enrollment growth and expand opportunities for students in the Cave Spring area.

Hands-On Experience Prepares Students for Employment

Hands-on training remains at the core of every pathway offered at RWS. Each pathway participates in one to two industry tours per semester, allowing students to connect classroom instruction with real world experience. Recent and upcoming industry visits include tours at Holmes Pharmacy, Walmart Distribution Center, Callaway Gardens, and the McCoy Grading site.

Students at the Cave Spring Center also participate in meaningful industry exposure opportunities. Tours include visits to local city government offices, hotels, nursing homes, and retail businesses in the Cave Spring community. These experiences allow students to ask questions, explore career options, and better understand workplace expectations.

Executive Director Chris Wells shared his enthusiasm about the continued growth across both campuses. “It is inspiring to see the steady growth at Roosevelt Warm Springs and the Cave Spring Center. Our dedicated staff bring knowledge, experience, and passion into the classroom each day, ensuring students receive meaningful hands-on training. We are committed to equipping every student with the skills, confidence, and certifications they need to successfully transition into the workforce after graduation.”

With a semester filled with learning, certifications, and career exploration, students at Roosevelt Warm Springs and the Cave Spring Center are well-positioned to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
