The Roosevelt Warm Springs Center (RWS) recently hosted an inspiring and high-impact Transition Fair, welcoming hundreds of students with disabilities from across Georgia for a day focused on exploration, opportunity, and future career pathways.

“This event is about opening doors and helping students see what’s possible for their future,” said Todd McRae, Residential Director for Roosevelt Warm Springs and Cave Spring Center. “By giving them the chance to explore real training environments and learn about certification opportunities, we’re helping them take important steps toward independence and meaningful careers.”

More than 500 students representing school systems from Bartow County, Bibb County, Bleckley County, Fulton County, Newton County, Putnam County, Rome City Schools, and many others arrived on campus ready to learn more about certification programs and hands-on training opportunities. From the moment they stepped onto campus, their excitement and curiosity were evident.

Throughout the day, students participated in guided tours, engaged directly with staff and student leaders, and explored a variety of career-focused programs designed to prepare them for meaningful employment.

“This was an important opportunity for students to experience firsthand what training and campus life can look like,” added Katie Brown, Assistant Residential Director at RWS. “Opportunities like this help students feel more prepared and confident as they plan for life after high school.”

The success of the Transition Fair was made possible by the dedication of the Roosevelt Warm Springs and Cave Spring staff and student tour leaders, who worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and supportive environment. Their efforts ensured that every student felt encouraged to explore new possibilities and envision the next steps in their journey.
