Carla Murphy

Director of Communications and Public Affairs

Carla W. Murphy is the Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA). Ms. Murphy is an award-winning communications professional with more than 25 years of public relations, marketing, and media relations experience. Within two years of joining GVRA, her team earned the Phoenix Awards/Award of Excellence from the Georgia Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for Most Effective Campaign on a Shoestring Budget (Less than $5,000).

Prior to joining GVRA, she served as communications director for the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS). In addition to her work in state government, Ms. Murphy served as communications coordinator with Fulton County Schools and public affairs director for the U.S. Peace Corps. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Clark Atlanta University.
