Roosevelt Warm Springs Launches New Pharmacy Technician Training Program for Spring 2026

Starting this Spring 2026 semester, Roosevelt Warm Springs (RWS) proudly launched its new Pharmacy Technician Training Pathway. Four students make up the inaugural cohort, marking an important milestone as the first group to participate in this innovative program. Offered in partnership with CVS Health, the pathway is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and real-world experience needed for careers in pharmacy services.

The Pharmacy Technician Training Pathway combines student-facilitated online lessons and modules with hands-on, direct instruction from highly qualified staff. In addition, students gain extensive externship experience at local CVS pharmacies, allowing them to apply classroom learning in a professional healthcare setting.

Program eligibility includes academic requirements of at least an 8th–9th grade reading and math proficiency. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. To participate in the required externship and register for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), candidates must also successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

“We’re excited about this new pathway and the opportunity it provides students for immediate employment with CVS Health,” said Elizabeth “Niki” Watts, Assistant Director of Vocational Services & Student Admissions.

Upon successful completion of the program, students are prepared for high-demand careers within the healthcare industry. After graduating from RWS, students are also equipped to pursue national certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), further enhancing their career opportunities.
