Project Search Partners with GVRA to Support Baldwin County Graduates with Disabilities
Project SEARCH, in collaboration with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA), has announced the launch of a new internship site at Atrium Health Navicent in Milledgeville. The partnership will offer valuable career training opportunities for five 2025 Baldwin County High School graduates.
GVRA partners with Project SEARCH and local school districts to support Project SEARCH sites in Georgia and provide statewide coordination of programs. GVRA also provides the following support for Project SEARCH, including:
- Vocational Rehabilitation Case Management
- Support with planning committees for new programs and existing programs
- Access to supportive services such as uniforms, assistive work technology, and other services needed
- Access to Pre-Employment, placement, and job coaching services
A feature segment by 41 NBC News highlighted the program's significance and meaningful impact in supporting students with intellectual disabilities as they explore careers in the medical field. Representing GVRA, Benjamin West, Coordinator for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Project SEARCH, joined Baldwin County school officials and Chief Nursing Officer Angela Lintz, for a media event to speak about the program's goals and the value of the new partnership.
