Every day, thousands of Georgians rely on dedicated professionals working behind the scenes to ensure they receive the benefits and support they need and during Disability Professionals Week, we recognize the individuals making that impact possible.

Governor Brian P. Kemp has proclaimed June 15–19, 2026, as Disability Professionals Week in Georgia, recognizing the dedicated professionals who work every day to empower individuals with disabilities, expand employment opportunities, and promote independence across the state.

At GVRA, our Disability Adjudication Services (DAS) team plays a critical role in ensuring Georgians have access to essential benefits and services. DAS staff carefully review applicant information and apply federal regulations, policy standards, and medical evidence to make accurate and timely disability determinations.

Their commitment to excellence is reflected in their outstanding performance. In Fiscal Year 2026, DAS achieved a 94% accuracy rate while successfully processing 117,478 cases, helping thousands of Georgians access the support they need.

“The dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts of our DAS team help ensure that Georgians receive the services and support they depend on every day,” said GVRA Executive Director Chris Wells. “Their work makes a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities throughout our state.”

As we celebrate Disability Professionals Week, we extend our sincere gratitude to every member of the DAS team for their commitment, compassion, and service. Together, they are helping build a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable future for all Georgians.
