Building Futures: 270 Graduates Complete Career Development Programs Through Goodwill of North Georgia
On June 3, Goodwill of North Georgia celebrated 270 graduates who successfully completed job training and career development programs. The commencement ceremony was located at the Georgia Aquarium.
As a valued provider partner of the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA), Goodwill of North Georgia offers training programs that help individuals with disabilities develop the skills, confidence, and credentials needed to achieve meaningful employment.
The ceremony recognized graduates who completed training in Welding, Forklift Operations, Supply Chain (CDL-A), Retail Customer Service, and Community Work Adjustment. Delivered through Goodwill’s 14 Career Centers, these programs provide career coaching, industry-recognized certifications, and wraparound support services designed to help job seekers overcome barriers to employment and achieve long-term career success.
“It was great to see these graduates walk across the stage and step into new opportunities,” said Cynthia Burks, GVRA’s VR Supervisor, who attended the event along with VR Counselor Tamera Armstrong. “Their hard work and determination were evident throughout the ceremony, and we are excited to see what they accomplish next.”
GVRA is proud to partner with organizations like Goodwill of North Georgia that provide high-quality training and workforce development opportunities for individuals with disabilities. These programs help participants improve job readiness, build technical skills, earn industry credentials, and access post-secondary education support, creating pathways to sustainable employment and greater independence.
Congratulations to all 270 graduates on this significant achievement and the bright futures that lie ahead.
