Certified Nursing Assistant

Program Description 

The CNA/Home Health Aid Program is a 16-week classroom and internship experience that will prepare you to be successful for the CNA state licensure. There are 14 weeks of classroom instruction and clinical experience followed by a two-week test prep and testing period.

  • Program Criteria

    Clients participating in the CNA program must have: 

    • 6th grade reading and math level or above
    • The ability to lift 40-50 pounds
    • TB test and background check 
  • Training and Experience
    Three RWS nursing students wearing burgundy scrubs.

    Clients will have experiences in the classroom and CNA lab along with internship experiences at a local nursing home. Students are required to have a TB test and other required vaccinations. 

  • Career Outcomes

    The Certified Nursing Assistant Program prepares students to test for their state CNA licensure. Students attaining licensure can work in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, clinics, and other places that provide medical services. Some careers in the Home Health field include private home health care or working for a Home Health Provider.

  • Certifications

    Certifications may be earned in CPR/First Aid; C.N.A State Licensure; and Home Health Care.
