Cave Spring Center to Expand Programs and Services in 2026

Exciting enhancements are on the horizon for the Cave Spring Center (CSC) in 2026! Key developments include launching residential services for Pathways students, the second cohort of the Business Enterprise Program (BEP), and the continued growth of the Day Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program for high school students in surrounding counties.
Currently, CSC offers the Day Pre-ETS program to high school students in the Floyd and Polk County School Districts. Through this program, students participate in work-based learning experiences, receive workplace readiness training, explore career options, and receive counseling on post-secondary education and training opportunities. During the 2025–2026 school year alone, CSC served over 20 students, helping them build essential skills for future employment.
"We're excited to begin the process of adding residential services for students here at the Cave Spring Center," said CSC Manager Greg Teems. "Right now, we have a 50-bed residential dormitory, and this is an important step toward expanding the support we offer our students."
In terms of vocational training, CSC currently offers the Hospitality pathway and BEP. In 2026, CSC plans to introduce residential services for Pathways students enrolled in Hospitality and CVS/Retail programs. With these new residential offerings, students will benefit from classroom instruction and the opportunity to experience dorm and campus life, promoting greater independence and preparation for integrated employment.
