March Recap: One Team. One Dream. Better Together.
One Team. One Dream. Better Together.
March was a month of meaningful collaboration, skill-building, and student growth across Georgia through the Pathways to Partnerships (P2P) program. Through powerful partnerships with school districts, Centers for Independent Living (CILs), and GVRA, P2P continued to open doors for students and families—helping pave the way for bright futures in education, training, and employment.
Empowering Families & Building Connections

The month began with a strong presence at family engagement events, including the Columbia County Family Resource Expo and the Houston County Transition Fair. These events provided incredible opportunities to connect with families, answer questions, and share the wealth of resources available through GVRA, Walton Options, and Disability Connections. Guardians shared their hopes and dreams for their youth, while P2P and partner agencies provided vital guidance to help families navigate the path to post-secondary success.
At the First District RESA Expo in Chatham County, P2P partnered with Living Independence for Everyone (LIFE) to offer educators and family members insights into disability-related services and tools, including our Family Toolbox and virtual Monthly Family Learning Sessions.
Inspiring Student Growth in the Classroom
Throughout the month, students engaged in dynamic lessons across multiple school districts. In Columbia County, Pre-ETS instruction at Columbia Middle School empowered students to explore their strengths, develop resumes, and grow in confidence through team-building and interviewing practice.
Polk School District students dove into the “Pathway to Dreams” curriculum with hands-on, grade-specific activities. Sixth graders went on pirate-themed teamwork quests and gamified workplace strategy lessons, while seventh graders tackled interview skills and made hiring decisions in group projects. Eighth graders developed their problem-solving skills and began building professional resumes—each lesson reinforcing critical workplace competencies in engaging, accessible ways.
Houston County Schools offered students similar opportunities to build foundational soft skills. Students at Warner Robins and Feagin Mill Middle Schools participated in lessons focused on adaptability, problem-solving, and resume development. These experiences culminated in a powerful field trip to Disability Connections, where students engaged in mock interviews, self-advocacy activities, goal setting, and learned more about independent living and vocational training options.

Collaborative Impact in Action
Every classroom visit, event, and activity in March showcased the strength of P2P’s collaborative approach. Whether through interactive lessons on communication and decision-making, or through opportunities for real-world application like resume-building and interviewing, students gained essential tools for their academic and career journeys. Educators, families, and partner organizations worked together with a shared mission: to support youth in reaching their fullest potential.
As we reflect on this impactful month, we are grateful for the partnerships that make this work possible—between school districts, GVRA, local CILs, and, most importantly, the students and families we serve. Together, we are not only preparing students for future employment, we are building a culture of confidence, connection, and possibility.
