Pathways to Partnerships prepares its "Pathways to Dreams" curriculum to be implemented.

“Pathway to Dreams” has been distributed and is on its way to being implemented with children and youth with disabilities through our strong partnerships between GVRA and partnering Centers for Independent Living and local school districts. “Pathway to Dreams” is our Pathways to Partnerships early intervention Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) curriculum designed specifically for students with disabilities in grades 6-8. The curriculum was developed through identified needs, feedback from partners, and collaboration with P2P Team Members. The curriculum’s purpose is to introduce participating Georgia middle schoolers to skills necessary for obtaining competitive integrated employment after completing their educational journeys.

The success of this project is driven by important partnerships between GVRA, local school districts, Georgia-based Centers for Independent Living, the Georgia Department of Education, and other entities. We are excited about this collaboration because in addition to soft skills curriculum, it provides students in middle school, along with their families, information regarding available support, services, and resources prior to entering high school!

Through the P2P Grant, GVRA is currently partnering with 3 CILs (Disability Connections, NWGACIL, and Walton Options) and 3 LEAs (Columbia County, Houston County, and Polk County). Through these partnerships our P2P Team will deliver our "Pathway to Dreams" curriculum to participating 10–14-year-old students with disabilities. Together, our P2P Team is dedicated to collective collaboration to develop and implement innovative programming designed to empower children and youth with disabilities, as well as their families. We aim to enhance awareness of available resources, build a solid foundation of essential soft skills, support a smooth transition process, and help students discover and achieve their dreams for successful post-secondary outcomes.

We truly are all Better Together as we create and implement innovative programming keeping children and youth with disabilities, as well as their families, at the heart of our work!

Stay tuned to see upcoming "Pathway to Dreams" implementation!
