Blind and Low Vision Forum Brings Teams Together

Staff and GVRA partners came together virtually on December 10 for a Blind and Low Vision Forum, a two-hour event focused on collaboration, communication, and shared learning.

The forum opened with a presentation from Provider Management, which covered key performance indicators (KPIs), documentation requirements, and a general program overview. Participants also had the opportunity to meet the Blind and Low Vision team, who shared an introduction and overview of their role and services.

During the second half of the forum, attendees joined one of two breakout sessions designed for specific roles. One session focused on billing and invoicing, with discussion geared toward staff responsible for submitting this information to VR. The second breakout brought together instructors and VR counselors to discuss training, progress reports, and staffings. This session also created space for counselors and instructors to connect and build stronger working relationships.

“The forum was a valuable opportunity for collaboration and shared learning,” said Blind Services Coordinator Shirley Robinson. “It allowed providers, instructors, and VR counselors to come together, ask questions, and strengthen communication, which ultimately helps us better support the individuals we serve.”

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of the forum. Events like these help strengthen partnerships and support continued improvement in service delivery.
