Reaching More, Serving Better: GVRA Serves Over 20,000 Students with Disabilities in FY25

The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) made remarkable progress in fiscal year 2025, serving a record number of students with disabilities and demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusive education and workforce readiness.

This year, GVRA served 24,703 students with disabilities, marking a 36% increase from fiscal year 2024 and more than double the number served in fiscal year 2020. This growth highlights the agency’s ongoing dedication to empowering young people with disabilities through education and vocational support.

Expanding Opportunities for Georgia’s Students

GVRA provides a wide range of Pre-Employment Transition Services (pre-ETS), including:

  1. Job exploration counseling
  2. Counseling on post-secondary options
  3. Work readiness training
  4. Work-based learning experiences
  5. Instruction in self-advocacy

These services are available to students with disabilities who are between the ages of 14 and 21 and have not yet graduated from high school.

Outreach in Action

To further expand its reach, GVRA hosts events aimed at connecting students and families with vocational resources. In fiscal year 2025, GVRA launched “GVRA Day at Fort Valley State University (FVSU)”, a special event designed to help students explore career pathways and higher education options.

Additional events planned for this fall include:

  1. GVRA Day at Gwinnett Technical College on September 16th at the Alpharetta campus.
  2. GVRA Day at the Fair on October 3rd at Perry, Georgia.
