Longtime Disability Advocate Karen Addams Rejoins SRC
Karen Addams has rejoined the State Rehabilitation Council (SRC), bringing more than 38 years of advocacy and leadership in support of Georgia’s disability community.
She previously served on the Council from 2019 to 2025 and served as Vice Chair in 2023 and 2024. Her current term expires in 2028.
Karen recently retired from Parent to Parent of Georgia, where she served in senior leadership roles for more than 17 years. She also spent six years as a Parent Educator with the Babies Can’t Wait program at Georgia State University, supporting families of young children with disabilities and special healthcare needs.
Karen has been active in the disability community since the birth of her daughter more than 38 years ago and now serves on the Council as the parent of an individual receiving vocational rehabilitation services. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Karen and her husband, Peter, live in Lilburn and are the parents of two daughters.
